Student Visa General Process
Get Accepted by a Polish University
After applying and getting accepted into the school you want to attend in Poland. You will need to visit a Polish embassy or consulate in your home country to have you visa application processed. You can find your nearest Polish consulate here. You will then proceed to set an appointment by registering online through the Polish consulate website.
Prepare and Attend Your Appointment
Prepare the necessary documents, including application form, travel document (passport), biometric photo, health insurance, sufficient means to support yourself, documents confirming the purpose of your stay. Proceed to attend you visa appointment on your specified date and submit all the documents including a printed and signed application form and the visa fee.
Wait For Your Visa To Be Processed
Once you have submitted your application and all of the required documents, it should take 15 days for your visa to be reviewed and receive a response. Although this turnaround is pretty quick, you should still start your application as early as possible. In some cases, processing can take much longer, and delays can occur if you forget to include all your documents.
Arrange Your Travel Plans
If your visa is accepted proceed to prepare your travel arrangements. When you arrive you can begin applying for your residence permit. Your first Polish Residence Permit will be valid only for 15 months. However, it can be renewed up to a time period of 3 years. You can apply for this extension while you are legally living in Poland and before your visa expires.
